Go Green, Eat Green

If you ever want to go all green, you must eat green, i.e., go vegetarian! Livestock industry generate a lot of  greenhouse gas and other byproduct that would help contribute to around a quarter of the global warming effect…

By having everyone on Earth going green in a year (that is by stop producing new baby livestock and let the industry finish out its last animals), we would effectively cut our carbon footprint back to the 90’s, if not the 80’s!!

Currently 70% of grain/bean/corn… go to feed those livestock. So by going all green, annually, we will have the more than twice the amount of food to feed everyone else, and even more than enough to convert those extra into bio-fuel. Yeah, livestock industry can all now turn to produce healthier food and bio-energy industry!

By eating all green, people will be healthier, lowering the cancer rate… National health bill, hospital expense and personal health care cost will be greatly reduce.

underwater hydrokinetic windmill

Hydrokinetic use motion of free-flowing water to generate power.
A pliot plant hydrokinetic project is being built in Mississippi River.
It use water current to push its 12 feet 3-blade fan to generate electricity, much like a wind turbine in underwater mode. Similar turbines has been used in Europe to capture tidal wave power.
These turbine can produce electricity around 4-7 cents per KW, much cheaper compare to windmill, around 10 cents per KW.

New wind power tower

Truely an innovation wind power tower design… a 2-in-1 tower by fusing high voltage electric tower with wind-power generator! Bravo!

Not only it can carry eletricity like conventional tower, it will add juice into those cables while protect bird from those spinning blades… not to mention a more efficient usage of land and space!

These Wind-it, is a design by French architects Nicola Delon and Julien Choppin and engineer Raphael Menard. They inserts a vertical turbine inside those high voltage towers.

Just imagine how much electricity it can be produce when installed along the 157,000 miles of high-voltage aboveground wires in the U.S alone. Each of these 330-foot-tall tower, according to computer
simulations suggest could produce up to 1 MW of electricity (enough to
power about 400 houses. )

Biodegradable F1 race car

This is definitely not your normal F1 race car! It is biodegradable! And, can speed upto 135-160mph! It runs on bio-diesel (recycled frying vegetable oils) too.

It will cost around a quarter of a million bucks! A small tag for F1…

Guess what? Its body is made of recycled water bottles and carbon fiber… HAHA! you should really recycle those water bottle now, especially for F1 fans!

Now everyone can enjoy a good F1 race with less guilty about the environmental factors… hehe

Please recycle water bottle

Do you know how much plastic water bottles we throw away?
I don’t! But, it will take about 47 million gallons of oil to make them and will end up over 1.5 million tons of plastic waste every year!
Scary huh?
SO, please recycle, or better, bring along a water bottle/container…

a 3rd gen Toyota Prius. My true dream car. It will save fuel, save CO2 emission, save the environment, save the climate…  save the world too?

It will save everything except saving money.. HAHA
Anyway, I better start saving too…  money, that is… if I want one… hehe

Greenbird, fastest wind power vehicle

It has a 32.8 feet long body with an equally tall sail, at 1,323-pound, this carbon-fiber Greenbird, the fastest wind-powered vehicle, is surprisingly
steady as it races across Ivanpah Lake in the Mojave Desert, setting a new record at 126.2 mph, using only wind power, amazing!
It was developed by English engineer Richard Jenkins and the U.K.’s largest
private green electricity supplier, Ecotricity.

It have a solid, vertical sail to capture the wind. Its unique low-drag design allows it to travel at up to 5 times of the wind speed.

I used to build one of these air-power vechile models when I was a kid decades ago… I added some sticks + A4 paper to make the sail and attached it to one of my toy cars. When the wind blow, it would race away… Who knows? If I’d study engineering instead of chemistry, I might have broke that speed record decades ago… haha!
